I'm getting a new MacBook Pro for work (which basically means I'm getting a new computer for home, too, since I carry this thing back and forth with me every day). My trusty PowerBook G4 is having some kind of recurring problem where it doesn't see all of its memory, so I routinely am running on 225k of memory, which results in a lot of spinning

I dunno how you are procuring said computer, but there is a whole new operating system (Leopard) coming out on Friday (at 6pm) and anything bought after then will have it.

Traditionally, anything bought within 2 weeks usually is eligible for free upgrades (like this) to avoid people returning and rebuying to get newer/faster/etc. I'd hit the web or call the store and find out.

FWIW, I think we are doing a "family pack" deal with a bunch of people...so the disks will be around regardless.
