I shook tim's hand at the joan of arc show in ft. Worth, was it march of 2003? The one with Rainer Maria and Mates of State. I told Tim that I was kindof an old guy, but I really liked his music. He smiled and said, "It's always the old guys." The coolest part of that show was hanging out most of the show with Nate Kinsella, who was drumming with JoA that night, and was new to touring. I mistook him for Mike at first, and he laughed and pointed at his cousin and said, "that's mike." He was such a friendly guy. We ran around the Ridgley trying to figure out the layout of the place, but mostly I just drank beer and told him how much of a fan of his family I was, and he told me about some of the changes they had made to the songs recently. I was surprised to see him on the back of the live in muenster cd, which is awesome, and really impressed when I'd heard about the role as producer that he'd taken on for the new Owen album, as well as the most recent JoA album. Anyway, totally cool.
yeah, i went to the make believe show a few months ago and my friend picked up that cd while we were looking at the merchandise and nate's face was on the back but he was also watching us notice that it was him behind the counter. it was amusing. i love kinsellas.
