I've noticed in recent months that I'm having an increasing dissatisfaction with ontd_p; and I think I've finally figured out what my problem is with it ( Read more... )

I think a lot of people in ONTD_P, especially lately, don't know what the fuck they are talking about but tend to parrot whatever words/beliefs the kid of power house commenters say/have and it's frickin' annoying.

I don't like the hatred of dissenting beliefs eithers, I mean, I'll probably forever LOL at Republican views and people who want to vote for Ron Paul BUT... m I WANT to read the dissenting opinions, I want to have my opinion challenged so that I can know it's the RIGHT opinion, if that makes sense. I hate when there is a comment that is just something useless like 'uhmm, no' or 'really?', like in some snarky way without offering anything back.

Also, if I read one more 'I want to quit the human race' or whatever comment... arglebargle.

I still read it (rarely comment) because I like the posts and I do like some of the commenters and things I learn through there but some of the less educated need to just hold back if they have nothing to say, instead of parroting what they thing the popular powerhouses would say.

While I don't tend to go the 'MEN SUCK' route in those posts, I've certainly seen them. And yeah, at that moment in time, agree with them, but not in a generalised fashion. More in a 'I agree, that guy named in the article must be a massive asshole' way ( ... )

I admit that the current right wing today has about zero ideas that I can get behind, and I just don't have a lot of patience for it anymore. But at the same time, for the most part I'll just skip over comments I just want to reply to with ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME, because why pick a fight just because we're on opposite sides of an ideological divide ( ... )

I feel your pain. I've given childfree it's own Godwin's Law: How many comments can any one thread be before I'm or someone else is accused of being a misogynist? It usually happens between 10-15 comments.
