My first book of 2009 is Star Trek: The Next Generation: Death in Winter by Michael Jan Friedman.

Sounds like fun. I've never read a single Star Trek novel - but I did get sucked into the Star Wars novels for a few years.

How's your vampire script coming? I have an idea for you if you want it.

Haven't talked to Michael in a bit, so I haven't gotten into it much. I gave him Todd's myspace address, but haven't heard back from him. Instead, I wrote an APA submission.

In the mean time, I'd love to hear the idea.

Since you mentioned the role vanity plays in relation to this project - I thought why not have an extremely narcissistic vampire? You could find some really great insight into the character by having him long to look into a mirror again. He could even go so far as to carry a small mirror with him at times.

Anyway - it just popped up in my head so I thought you might could use it. If not - that's cool.

Oh, I could rant, but I won't. I did watch the confidential that introduced the new guy. Steven Moffat has proven himself as a producer and writer, but this just seemed to come out of left field. The only way that it will work is if the guy can play old soul.
