I am the Rain Queen, I am the drought breaker

It only got to 32C (86F) today, but it poured with rain. We are now almost completely isolated with two of the three ways out flooded out. My sister and I went for a drive (and an illegal driving lesson) and while we noticed that the creeks and ponds actually had water, it didn't look so bad. We were on our way back from Flagstone and we noticed ( Read more... )

oooh, we used to get floods in our dry creekbeds in SoCal. Always loved it.

Also, Ca. has tried to really tighten up investigations into allegations of domestic violence because too many women had their complaints dismissed. Now, I think, everything has to be treated seriously and investigated. It doesn't mean actual charges will stick.

Oh, that makes it better about them pressing charges. It's still pretty screwed up but then again, so is domestic violence.

I went down to the Shell Station last night and found that the main road out (Mt Lindsay Highway) was closed with a police cordon because some wanker thought that his little car could go through it.
Would it have remained open otherwise?

I am currently trying to bring back the insult "Fool" said in a Mr T voice.
Just make sure that you say it properly. An English boy I know has tried to say it and it keeps on sounding like "Feuoo". Needless to say, that has become his nickname.

Yup. And it's all almost gone, leaving a muddy trail behind.

Is it weird I think your flooding pictures are really pretty?

Is this normal for y'all?

It's not weird. I think. How are they pretty though? It just looks like dirty water to me. It's not normal at all here, we're currently in the middle of 6+ year drought and the water dams are only at 15-20% of capacity so there are level 6 water restrictions (up to a couple of years ago there were only 4 levels). Water is crazy here.

Holy smokes. That is just insane. It's a good thing the river hasn't overflowed to the road then. Or has it by now?

There was a rerun of ANTM S1 last week and I caught the episode where Elyse's bf comes to visit. Was it that guy?

Yup, the water was all over the roads. It's dried up now, leaving this dirt great big brown trail. Quite gross. Even though it was all flooded, it has been sunny for the most of it.

Oh lucky. I love that season because Tyra is less scary but there is still lots of drama. That is the guy, I thought he was a bit of a tool but you get that in musicians. Wanker.
