[049] Honk If You See Kibum

Jun 25, 2009 15:49

Title: Honk If You See Kibum
Pairing: Hankyung/Hankyung
Prompt: 049. “What’s the difference?”
Summary: Hankyung writes a letter to Kibum
Disclaimer: Apart from the usual of me not owning any of the SuJu boys (NOOOOO…YESUNG!), I should make an extra note that this is just a fanfic. Therefore, it is fictional. Just need to make that clear.

Dear Kibum,

If you are reading this letter, it means that you are alive and well. For that, I am eternally grateful. You might not remember me since we haven’t seen or spoken to each other for awhile. I’m Hankyung from Super Junior. Do you still remember Super Junior? You should, because you are a member of Super Junior. Or are you? I bet you are wondering why I am writing a letter to you. Well, I think you changed your cell phone number and didn’t tell anyone, because your old number has been disconnected. Also, you never seem to be at home, so I had to resort to shoving this letter through the bottom crack of your front door.

Have you been watching all our performances on music shows? During one of our more recent performances of Neorago, Heechul bumped into my hat and hit his nose. He didn’t speak to me for the rest of the night. The next morning, I found the hat in the trash can with large slash-like marks through it. After that, Heechul starting talking to me again. Yesung’s new hairstyle has also been a hot topic among fans and members alike. Wookie made the mistake of pointing out that it looked like someone had dropped a pile of hay onto Yesung’s head and had to sleep on the couch for two nights. We ended our promotions for the 3rd jib with twelve awards. I’m sure that if you had been there, we would’ve won thirteen, one for each member.

We are all very excited about the upcoming concert, especially when we heard that you would be joining us onstage. So when they announced that you weren’t going to be joining us for the concert after all, we were all shocked. Eeteuk-hyung took the news badly. He cried, but tried to hide it from us. We all knew anyway. What we don’t know is whether he was crying because of your absence from the concert or that he had heard about your leg injury. I think it was a bit of both. Have you read hyung’s cyworld entries lately? These days, hyung has been mourning the loss of his left dimple and angel-like smile. Kangin has been short-tempered, well, even more so, since he found out. No doubt half of his anger towards you is because you made Eeteuk-hyung cry, but we all wished that you could join us on stage again, because it’s been awhile since all thirteen of us performed together.

If you’re reading this letter during a break in your acting lesson, you’re probably asking yourself, “What’s the difference anyway? What’s the difference between me being there or not? What’s the difference between there being twelve or thirteen people on the stage?”

Well, I would like to remind you, first and foremost, that our fans are not stupid. They are capable of counting, and counting up to thirteen at that. That is the difference between there being twelve or thirteen people on the stage. That being said, the main difference is that you are the thirteenth person on that stage with us. With Super Junior. With our fans. That is the difference between you being there or not.

Kibummie-ah, your hyungs and dongsaeng miss you very much. We know that acting is very important to you, but so is Super Junior, and that you must be feeling upset at not being able to perform with us, right? We understand that with your leg injury, you might not be able to participate in most of the dancing, but Heechul is in the same position as you, so I know we’ll be able to work around that. We promise that we won’t stick you on top of a cherry-picker this time, really. We’ll even get you a wheelchair to sit on, a motorised one, better than Junsu’s. I really hope you’ll re-think your participation in the concert, because I don’t think any of us will feel comfortable calling it a Super Junior concert if one of our Super Junior members is missing.

Since the announcement was released, fans have been discussing and saying that you had no intentions of participating in the first place and that it is inevitable that you will leave us. The fans seem to be waiting for the company to make some kind of announcement, if Heechul didn’t read wrongly. We don’t know whether the rumours are correct or not, but we will not assume anything until we have heard it from your own mouth. Kibum, I hope that if such a time comes, you can be forthright about it, and know that we will respect your decision, no matter how much we dislike it.

Lastly, please ring Eeteuk-hyung once in awhile…he really needs to know that you are okay and we really need Kangin to stop threatening to sock members at the drop of a hat because Eeteuk-hyung is upset at not hearing from you.

Sincerely Heechul’s,

Hankyung

P.S. Sorry for any bad grammar or mistakes. I’m not too good at Korean.

P.P.S. Please do not bother with a reply, as I will probably not be around to read your reply anyway. Your fans would have taken care of me already. That being said, if you could ask them not to drag the pain out for too long, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

[Was thinking about re-writing the “I want you to stay forever” prompt in light of recent events and my not-too-pleased mood, but thought that this prompt would also give me the opportunity to rant a little. Mistake: thinking that Hankyung could be bitchy. Damn. But I got out what I wanted to get out, and I’m ok now. Plus, the fact that I wasn’t able to write something angsty probably means that I wasn’t as mad as I thought I was. Probably.]
