So, as you know, I'm part of a developing worship team and we've been having official rehearsals on fridays. We had one tonight too because there's a lot to practice and we do, the rehearsals are usually 3-4 hours each. Time flies by though and it's been fun. So, like, is your worship team just a full choir and then someone playing the acoustic? Or are there more instruments than that?
3-4 hours of practice? Whoa, that's crazy. *lol* I'm used to just getting up an hour or so before church, setting up, and then maybe having a half hour or so of actual music practice. Though sometimes we do have 1 1/2-2 hour practices on Saturday if we can find the time. *shrugs* But I think we just do more of the "on the fly" thing when we've all played together for so long that we know how everyone works and have that vibe going.
Anyway, I'll be praying for you, too! That is such an awesome opportunity! And you're right...sometimes, it is easy to get caught up in all the technicalities and performing well...but everything works out so much better when we do it to glorify God and not ourselves. :)

Well, I don't know we can call ourselves a choir, there's 5 of us singing myself included. But there's more instruments, we have people on the piano, drums, guitar, and bass. So we're good to go :). It's exciting when we're all practicing together, I mean there's still a lot of work needed but we're moving forward.
Yes, it's hours of practicing, I mean last night we practiced from 5-9, 4 hours is the limit though. After that my throat gets tired. It's fun though, I didn't know I'd enjoy singing so much. We can't do stuff on the fly yet, we're too "new" lol to go in and know what we're supposed to be doing. There's still stuff to memorize, like not singing this part or singing alone on that part or going low here or going high there.
I appreciate that so much, thank you. I really want God to be the center of this, so I'm praying that he guides us.
