I really hate it when people you don't know try to talk to you too much. Especially when it's in a situation that doesn't really warrant conversation beyond "How are you today?" Like at the grocery store

I'm going to start eating cheerios tomorrow to help lower my cholesterol. But today, to celebrate the 4th, I'm going to eat 6 deviled eggs and an entire pack of hot dogs!

lol, you know i went to this workshop recently and the guy was encouraging us to chat up cashiers and the like to practice our japanese. so...probably next time i'm at the store i'll be like..."sumimasen but, why are you so fat? it's....maybe not kawaii."

Cashier: My birthday is coming up on 7-7. I'm thinking about cutting out fatty foods. You know, as a life change.
Me: Happy Birthday. 7, 7, 07? That's pretty impressive. You know, it'll be 63 years until you can have another one that good. Or 70 more years before you can have one that's better. You better hope scientists come up with some weird life extending drug, because for someone in your income bracket, with your diet, chances are you'll be lucky to see 7-7 of 47 with YOUR life expectancy... wait, isn't 747 a jet or something?
Cashier: Yeah, my family died in a jet crash. It was a 737.
Me: Ouch. Oh well, you'll probably live that long. I'm gonna go polish off a pound of chow mein and drink 500ml of rum. Death waits for us all. see ya.
