April
You hold his hand. It's sweaty, and you think he's nervous. Maybe you're nervous too.
He leans back in his chair and pulls his cap over his forehead. You sit still, watching the screen, but you don't find the movie interesting, and swing one leg over the other, and sigh, and wait. You should have picked something else to do.
After the movie he steals a kiss. You pull away quickly, and walk over to the bathroom to wash your hands. You don't look back but you know he's still in the hall.
May
Hershey Park. You read the sign as you walk in, and close your eyes as you look up at the sun. It's been a while since you've stpped into an amusement park.
He laughs as he hangs an arm loosely over your shoulder, and you grit your teeth as a few people stare, their expressions make you feel very small, embarassed. A shift of a shoulder and you're not in contact with him anymore. You glance at him quickly. He's hurt, you can tell. But he buys you a stick of cotton candy anyway.
June
"Love you."
"What?"
"I said I love you."
"What?"
"Uh?"
"Huh?"
"Haha hoohoo heehee hoho uh?"
"Shut up, idiot." (slap)
July
"Have you ever been to the ocean, Hankyung?"
He shakes his head, slowly, not lifting his gaze from the window. His clothes are wrinkled and sweaty and his lunch lies untouched at the edge of the table.
"Do you want to go?"
"You mean now? With you?"
You shrug. "I don't see why not."

It feels good, the wind picking up the fresh scent of the water and wrapping it around your thin frame. After a few cartwheels on the shore, you run up to him, your breath in short gasps. "Sometimes... sometimes life's pretty good."
He nods and wades into the water, slipping off his shirt. He watches as the waves circle his waist and starts to swim.
You smile, sit down lightly on the sand, and lean back.
August
"I'm going to buy some drinks," he tells you as he stands up from the park bench. You nod and watch him cross the street.
You're tired, so you rest your head on the back of the bench and close your eyes, it's midday and the backs of your knees are damp.
-
You wake up to the sound of sirens. A few people yell, and a little girl runs over to the edge of the street, eyes wide and confused, and her mother quickly covers them with her hands. Your brain generates the fact that there's been an accident, and you watch as someone is gently put on a stretcher and covered with a white sheet.
And then it's quiet, so very quiet, and you wonder why Hankyung hasn't come back yet.
-
When he knew your name, you didn't know his.
When he liked you, you learned his name.
When he loved you, you liked him.
And when he left you, that was when, that was when you loved him.
What a stupid world, you think.
