Hmm, I suppose since this is supposed to be a journal of sorts, maybe I should use it to help organize my thoughts. I am a scientist, therefore, I like lists

Experiment failures? Sounds like THAT sucks hardcore.
Tell ya what, though, we have a surplus of unusable organs lying around after this fiasco if you need any...
Also- when are you heading back to RG? I've got to go back for a few days myself, and if we left together your ticket would be free (HORRAY FOR MILITARY DISCOUNTS!). I mean, I'm only staying a few days, but hey- that's a whole portion of the flight you don't have to pay for~!
You get used to it. With every experiment that is successful, there will be a pile of others that fail in a blaze of glory.
I so believe I'll have to pass on the organs. Seems I rushed things a bit with that and miscalculated a few things so it's back to the beginning. Two, almost three years of work and now I get start over almost at the beginning. Like I said, two steps forward and a fall back to the bottom.
I'm not sure when I'll be heading back. Just give me a few days notice when you decide to go and I'll see what I can do with my experiments for a few days.
It's the same in the medical practice- you can have a patient with a perfectly curable condition, have them on a program with medication, and you go for years and years and near the end, the patient just either gets cocky, gets impatient, or gets discouraged, stops taking the medication, and BOOM. Not only are we back to square one, but the condition is now permanent and deadly. =/
I have to go between next week and October. It doesn't matter when I go, but I do HAVE to go. I guess that's a good thing about being so high up in rank- training and meetings are flexible, but ABSOLUTELY mandatory. -_-;
It's the same with all sciences I do believe. A very discouraging field of study usually, but when something goes right, it makes all the failed paths worth it.
Let me get a few experiments set up. I can lock the lab up and they'll be fine for a few days since time is a factor during the beginning stages.
