Yea, instead of raising tolls, and charging the people who actually use the roads that Mass takes care of/Big Dig, lets charge everyone. I mean I wouldn't have as big of a problem with it if they added a clause that said the tax would be automatically repealed after 5 years or something like that, cause Mass/the US in general is notorious for taxing people to pay down stuff, then once it's paid off, they conveniently forget to repeal the tax because the bureaucrats are used to having all this extra money.
Here's an idea. How about instead of the state paying for government officials to drive to and from work, they pay for their own gas. I think that sounds reasonable.
I would be angry about this, if not for the fact that they use Dunkin Doughnuts coffee as a way of measuring the amount.
It made me laugh.
And as for the government officials paying for their own gas, many of them actually have to use state assigned vehicles and travel across the state to different branch offices which is why some of this stuff, like gas and tolls, are paid for. They're also only allowed to use these 'perks' when working and the people that do abuse the privileged are naughty. :)
