Hello people of my f-list. If you have a moment to spare, can you take the time to answer the following questions that would help me out tremendously for my project (it's a magazine and for one of the sections in the magazine)? Thanks! You can opt to put a pen name, your real name or be anonymous.

Playing instruments, teaching others and listening to others play.
What keeps you to your passion/thing that you love doing?
I can't express my emotions very well, but through music I can. Through music I can feel a range of others' emotions and share them. I laugh with my friends during operas, there's a loneliness in the way my boyfriend plays the guitar, there's a solace of inner strength from listening to vedic chants. Whenever I'm up or down, music is my constant.

Writing stories, and reading them, of course.

Language is fascinating to me because it's a limited system used to express unlimited ideas. I love writing because I want to find ways to arouse emotions in others. Joy, pain, excitement... when someone tells me that whatever I write feals "real," then that's the greatest compliment for me. Conversely, reading opens up new worlds for me. The best stories I've read are the ones that inspired me to go and create something myself.

Cooking and baking.
What keeps you to your passion/thing that you love doing even through the toughest of times?
It's what I do when I'm especially stressed. People tend to leave me alone when I'm in the kitchen, so by default it's a haven. Aside that... seeing something that looks generally nice and appetizing, and smells comforting reminds me that things will get better. The plus side is the option to share the yummies to someone else who's having a hard day, then you have a chance to have more than one person smiling even for just a moment. For me, it's shameless self-gratification... haha.

Reading about/seeing/doing book arts! I love bookbinding, paper and comics!
What keeps you to your passion/thing that you love doing?
The fact that I love doing it! You can tell this from my excessive use of exclamation marks! But seriously, if I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't do it. It's because I don't have to do it, and yet I do, both meticulously (thinking about books or stories to try, researching techniques, immersing myself in other artists' works) and spontaneously (which also includes the fact I've started so many random things that I haven't finished) ... that's how I know I love it ( ... )
