Survived Flight & Friend's Wedding

Dec 23, 2014 17:08

In short, things were incredibly stressful right up until my flight, but I did get most of the things done (but not all). And then proceeded to forget important items at home that were meant to be Christmas presents. And I will save the teapot saga for sometime when I have a LOT of time to type a LOT of text. It is full of tears and agony ( Read more... )

Teapots full of tears :(

...I don't know if you're doing D&D entirely wrong or entirely right.
The correct answer is BOTH.

So yarn : crocheters as duct tape : engineers?
I'm both, technically (although arguably a more avid knitter than crocheter these days), but not so much. Yarn was simply what was on hand, so I guess maybe more yarn : knitter/engineer as chewing gum : MacGuyver :P

Out of curiosity I searched Ravelry for "mullet." I'm relieved to say that all the results were sweaters, cowls, and socks and that nothing that actually had a photograph of the finished item was an actual mullet ^^;; Crocheted/knitted beards, on the other hand, are much easier to come by.

I still miss 2nd Edition (my mom just recently gave all my old gaming stuff away! although apparently the students she gave it to were SUPER THRILLED, which does alleviate the pain somewhat), but I have heard the newest edition is a huge improvement over the last one. If you need a teapot, I am living in like, the land of teapots atm, so if I can help let me know.

It's always better knowing that your old stuff is going to people who will be happy to use it :) I definitely never got a chance to play 2nd Edition, that was pre-college ^^;;

I've got a 5th Edition Monster Manual on its way to me now, so between Max and myself, we have the full starting trio. Thing is, the character sheets are more confusing than my tax forms >_< Apparently there's some starter kit somewhere that Max just found out about that has a little booklet in it that is just about how to fill out the character sheet, and we're trying to get ourselves a digital copy of this somehow because I didn't take notes during the character creation session and I'm going to need to create several of these for some NPCs, as I understand it :( I'm also bummed that my 4th Ed. Draconomicon books are suddenly irrelevant, but I suspect I can maybe modify things like the dragonborn information to suit 5th Edition. I'm most nervous about whether I can really handle DMing a game or not ( ... )

It was pre-college for me, too. Most of my D&D playing days were in middle and high school. I did play a bit of 3.5 edition in college, but someone else owned all of the stuff; I never bought any of it.

I wanted to play in high school, but never got the chance. I only played in college ^^;;

My 5th Edition Monster's Manual showed up on my doorstep today, and I'm somewhat crushed to find that the race of the NPC I've been really coming to like in my head (Guardinal -> Leonal) has managed to disappear between 3.5 and 5 :( I'm going to keep her a Leonal because that's what her initial concept was, it's just not going to be as easy to draw up her stats and such when the time comes. Boo :(
