a book about swift, written in english, published in dublin and oxford, and yet when quoting a german scholar findings, brings the quotations in german only, and treating it as every one understood it.

Try coping with Latin abuse (needless to say, un-translated, of course), in an English written book of a Hebrew native speaker.
