well, it looks like MA didn't make either list. I'm right next to #2 on the depressed list though. ;p

Hrm. Considering cities in that list that I've actually been to... I've been to 8 of the F cities, and only 1 of the top list.

I need to visit happier cities.

Hey Smitty!! *huGs*

Hmm, which ones have you visited? It seems like a lot of the more depressed cities are in the north (-less sunlight year-round), and also cities with raising unemployment.

I actually went to the site that had the stats at: and apparently out of the 100-top largest metro areas, Ann Arbor is the 9th least stressful area to live in and Detroit is the 9th most stressful.
I guess a 45min. drive for a change in atmosphere makes a lot of difference.

These are the dum... er.... cities I've been to:

Philadelphia, PA, Detroit, MI, Tampa, FL, Indianapolis, IN, Cleveland, OH, New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA

It was so depressing I wasn't even able to count correctly. Now (erroneously) assuming that growing up a few blocks from Detroit is the equivalent of living IN Detroit, and then accounting for my years in AA, I average... a high E. E+?

Actually, the site (www.bestplaces.net) that all the stats came from, lists Ann Arbor as a pretty decent place.
It's actually a pretty cool site. check it out! =D

-Nah!/Jk, I don't mind. -besides, i made this entry public- therefore if you comment, i left it open to happen. (so it's aLL my fault!!) :)

Hmm.. well, there's good things and bad things about every city, and that's a list of the most metro/populated cities, so there's bound to be good stuff to do in them that isn't in another. *shrug*
yeah.. Nebraska is a very different place socially/culturaly.
What about Long Beach do you love i wonder..?

Having people to call yours and them to call you theirs is a good part of whatever/wherever home is. Glad you got that. :)
