Marbled Paper

I've been creating marbled paper. This is the stuff that used to be used in bookbinding, like say, in the early to late 1800s. They glued it into the inside covers of the books. It's a royal pain in the ass to make, but I've discovered I sort of have a knack for it. I'm making all of my christmas cards and gifts using the papers I've made thus far ( Read more... )

Those are gorgeous! How do you make it?

Also, are we going to do the Free Hugs campaign again? I, and Josie the Wonderdog, are in if we are! :)

Hi, Sweet lani. I hadn't thought about the free hugs deal, but sure! if you want to do it, let's do it. We'll need to make some new signs, though. ...

the paper project is a long drawn out process involving a big tray full of this runny jello stuff, and you drop paint onto the surface of it, swirl it around with sticks and combs, then lay a paper down on top of it..all the paint transfers from the gelatin goo to the paper. Messy!

That is beautiful! I especially like the bright yellow, green, and purple paper. So spring-time-licious.

you da woman.

I haven't gotten the scarves in yet, but when I do, I'll want my uber-talented single funny gal friend to help me make them pretty! oh, and I will bring home potash tonight so ring me or come over if you want some. do you want ethanol too? that's useful for something dye-esque.
