This was the most calm week I've had so far. I'm still exhausted, though. The couple of nights I made it to bed early I couldn't get to sleep until after three. Wednesday I woke up early to go visit my former co-workers in Stanton. I was really excited that all of the trainers (including both bosses) were there. That's very rare. It was really nice to see them all again and they all seemed excited to see me. Everyone kept asking if I was thinking about coming back, heh.
That night was my friend, Danny's birthday. We went out to Cozymel's - a Mexican place (if you couldn't tell). We made it into a club event so we could get it subsidized through the school and SO MANY people showed up! There were like fifty people, most of whom we'd never seen before, heh. Afterwards the core crew decided to have an after party. Unfortunately we took so long deciding on what to do most people re-thought their decision to stay out even later (the dinner didn't even start til 9 pm) on a Wed night. Five of us ended up crashing an existing party. It was fun, but could have been better. I was DD and didn't know anyone but the people I came with. But I met lots of new people! And played King's Cup with water. 16 person waterfall later and I was very well hydrated. ;) Sadly at 2:30 security broke us up because we were being too loud. =\
Last night the school hosted a free concert night. I went to a friend's house for a pre-party. Sadly I got there really late so we were only there for like an hour before we headed out. But we still got our pre-funk on. Then we smuggled flavored water/vodka into the event. They weren't allowing any food or drink, so we had to get creative: we hid it in Sid's hood! Ha ha. The friskers didn't check there! ;) There were three groups playing that night, the headliner being The Roots. The music was good and I was in great company (not to mention tipsy), so it was a ton of fun.
I finally went crowd surfing! It was kind of a bizarre experience. Getting down was funny, though. They ended up dropping me but this hot guy caught me all hero style (like carrying someone over the threshold). It made me happy (both not to slam to the floor and to be held by a hot guy).
I danced with a bunch of the guys in our group (why do the one's with girlfriends seem to be the one's most eager to dance with me?) and eventually went on a restroom run (more to get some fresh air than anything else; it was friggin hot in there!). On my way back I ran into another group of friends and hung out with them for the rest of the night. It was funny, Nick was complaining that Stephan and Danny were failing him as wingmen (apparently the friend of the girl he was after was very swoopy), so I offered to step in. I tried to get her to join our dance line, but she kept jumping out and eventually said, "The line creeps me out." and ended up just dancing next to me. That didn't last long, though, before she was back with her friend. I failed.
The concert ended at midnight and we all headed outside. It had been sprinkling during the concert, which could only mean one thing: Undie Run! Apparently it's a tradition to do an Undie Run at the first rain of the year. I was quite confused when I emerged from inside to see a hoard of people all stripped down to their underwear. Then someone explained it to me. Nick tried to get us to do it. Stephan said he would go if we all went, but I was wearing shear underwear and in the presence of fit people, so I wasn't really interested in running with them at all, particularly scantily clad (and especially THAT scantily clad, ha ha). We tried calling the guys I had originally come with, but sadly we couldn't get a hold of any of them. We ended up calling Eric to come pick us up (the buses stop running at midnight), which he was not terribly thrilled about. But he came and we went back to his place and chilled with Sid and Abdullah. Eventually we decided to make a Taco Bell run then called it a night.
Fun times.
