OOC: Personality and Background

Apr 13, 2009 15:31

Personality: She is seen to have an ever-changing personality and as such is balanced out by Haruka’s calm even-ness. Even though she is quite old, Juuri can often act in a childish manner even going so far as to hug her own children quite suddenly. With mixed feelings for rain, she once told Yuuki of a story about Haruka hiding all of the umbrellas just so he would have an excuse to pick her up from school. Becoming angry over the fact that it merely seemed like he was hovering over her protectively, she asked why he was doing it, and he simply replied that he wanted to share an umbrella with her. Also with a tendency to blurt things out, there was a moment of silence as they were now both drenched, and she retorted with an insult.

Ever since she was young, Juuri has been fascinated by humans, first wanting to pretend be as human as possible, and then later, when Yuuki was born, she wanted her little girl to experience that life. Impulsive at times, she’s been known to act on her emotions even demonstrating what sharing an umbrella was like to a semi-startled Haruka. There is only one person that Juuri is ever seen to truly hate, and that is her older brother, Rido, who is so obsessed with her, that he was even willing to make Yuuki a replacement when they met when she was older. She is also compassionate, seeing as how she saved Kaien’s life when he tried to kill her, and her ideal for a peaceful world was strong enough to reach him as well.

However none of her traits runs deeper than the love Juuri has for her family. That much is evident as she only wants what’s best and even sacrificed her own life to seal away Yuuki’s human side and hoping that Kaname made friends with the other vampire children. Even though she’s full of spunk, she doesn’t seem like the type to get into a physical fight, unless provoked, rather knowing that both Haruka and Kaname feel as though that is their place to take care of them, merely injuring Kaien rather than killing him, Juuri also doesn’t like to take lives. Her love is unfathomable as even though Kaname is not her birth son, she doesn’t treat him as though he’s adopted and placing her trust in him to take care of Yuuki when they’re both gone.

History: As Juuri is over three thousand years old, a lot of her history is shrouded in mystery. A Pureblood vampire, with two older brothers, she has always wanted to live life as a human, at one point, now a long time ago, she pleaded with her grandfather to let her live in an area without any vampires. He agreed to let her go for three years, but only if her brother Haruka went along. It seemed like she never got along with either of her brothers, as Haruka always make a point to come pick her up from school.

It is unclear when the two of them fell in love and married, but Rido, her other brother, became obsessed with her. She has three children, their first one was a boy, whom Rido kidnapped and killed. The second is an adopted son, Kaname, whom Rido had revived and was raised as Yuuki’s older brother. Finally, came Yuuki, the Kuran Princess, whom they kept hidden from the world. Juuri once met Kaien Cross, who at the time was a vampire hunter and attempted to kill her while she was pregnant with Yuuki. Rather than kill him off, Juuri spares him, her ideals of a place where vampires and humans can co-exist reaching him and changing his life from that point on.

As a Pureblood family, they were respected above most of the other vampires, their word was law, yet they never controlled the other families. Juuri wants the best for her children, and attempts to place Kaname into vampire society early, wanting some of the other children to make an impact on him.

For five years they kept her in a windowless room, away from Rido’s grasp, until he came for her. Together they went to face their brother, leaving Yuuki in Kaname’s hands. Juuri merely stands on the balcony, away from the fighting of her two siblings. Then, when Haruka relays a cryptic message to her, and Juuri responds that she’ll be going on before him, and that Kaname might get mad at her, she goes back to her children. Giving Kaname one last kiss goodbye, who heads to the surface to help his father, she takes Yuuki into a separate room, and sacrifices herself to seal away the vampire side of her daughter, allowing her to live like a human.

After their deaths a rumor is spread that the Kuran parents committed suicide and maintained by the vampire council of elders, although many of the night class students disagree. Throughout the entire ordeal Kaname maintains that his parents were murdered and that they did not commit suicide.
