Christmas has come and gone. All of the rushing around, the mad panic to find the perfect gift for all of your friends, family, co-workers, random acquaintances, ad infinitum... I know what you mean. And i also get really depressed by those stupid christmas carrols. Especially the ones that deal about lonely christmas days.

I must admit that I prefer the sad carols to the unbearably peppy songs. Yes, yes... it plays to the stereotype, but then, there wouldn't be stereotype to play to were it not true to some extent. What I think I detest most, however, are the songs that truly are good, but have been redone by the hip hop, r&b, or country singer of the moment into something that's truly horrid. I appreciate talent, and I appreciate the ability to do something different with your vocal. What I do NOT appreciate is yet another person doing Jingle Bell Rock (incidentally, my least favourite Christmas song...) with those inane vocals that ping meaninglessly through several octaves within a matter of seconds for no other reason than to prove it can be done.

Obviously, I have issues with this day, as well. Or at least, I have issues with what it has become for the average person in this country. As for the three kings, they didn't even visit Mary and Joseph until long after Jesus was born. They were most certainly not on the scene at the birth, and Jesus was not born in December.

I could go on, but I need to get to bed. Happy New Year!
