Goblet of Fire comes out in Australia on December 1. I'm looking forward to it, but it's going to be absolutely packed for the first few days, so I'll probably have to wait a little while to see it from then.
Apparently it's very long. How long did it go for?
Two and a half hours. I was really tired, but the movie gave me a huge adrenaline rush! I didn't even have to get advance tickets, I just went an hour early. All three theatres had sold out!
Two and a half hours isn't bad. For the size of the book itself, I'm surprised it wasn't longer. I think I'll just try my luck on premier day. There are three cinemas near me, and they'll all probably be showing it every hour or so till late.
It's funny, I really hadn't heard anything about it coming out at all until it was given an "M" rating instead of the regular "PG" a few weeks ago. All the parents complaining that their children can't see it and such. I personally think its such a silly argument. If I was a mother I wouldn't bring my 5-year-old to go see GOF, knowing what happens in it. Oh well, the same thing happened when POA came out, and they lowered the rating to PG. . . Then all the parents started complaining about how their children had nightmares from the Dementors. sigh. You just can't win ;)
I took my mother and she had never read the books before. She was shocked as all hell and some of the scenes were scary as shit. Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort is a dream come true. They did a pretty good job sticking to the book. A few chapters were rewritten to save on time and continuity, and a few characters were omitted, but they really didn't need to be in it anyway.
I had only one big peeve. Not enough Malfoy. There is never enough Malfoy damnit!
