Oh yes! I am so glad I logged on and found a new chapter.

William the Bloody, he thought smugly, Slayer of Slayers and Kicker of Count Dracula’s Arse.

LOL! That is just so priceless and so very Spike. This was SO much BETTER than canon. I knew you wouldn't fail when it came to writing a great fight scene. This was just awesome!

I could really see Spike thinking that killing Dracula was worth adding to his titles, glad you liked that bit. Glad you liked the fight scene, sometimes I almost have to act out parts to see if something will work. *g*

now that I had tim eto re-read it: superp as always ;)
Xander's reaction to (of?) being so violated by Dracula was fitting.
I still think it was too easy with Dracula. Somehwo I got the feeling he'll be back. *nods* But the Fight was ... wow...
Oh hell, I have no words besides... MORE!
*ducks and runs away laughing*

I know Spike had planned to kill Dracula slowly and painfully but Dracula was both older and bigger than him, so it didn't quite work out that way. He needed to take advantage of whatever opening he could find.

More soon, probably Saturday, the next chapter's almost finished.

I love it when you've just started a new story :) So many updates in so few days! *bounces*
You are right, killing Dracula slowly might have just invited disaster.
I am off to see my bed now. Maybe I'll be able to read chapter three for breakfast again ;)

Is Dracula really dead? *is sad*

I'd wanted him to kidnap Xander

*giggle*

With Dracula, you never really know if he's dead or not. Kidnapping would be fun but Spike wasn't about to let that happen to his boy.

But but but...

Dracula could always kidnap Xander, try to have his naughty way with him, and then Spike can come rescue his Claimed!

*nods*

LOL

*fingers crossed*

Boy you really made the whole Dracula bit make sense. Since he was so unlike the Whedon-type vampire my own take on him was that he was some kind of simulacra created by the monks in order to get some of Buffy's blood so they could turn the Key into Dawn.

Anyway hurray for Spike ridding Sunnydale of Drac and avenging his Claimed. Now for some cuddle time??

Now THERE's a great idea! I actually had this whole bit where Spike bitched about how Dracula was just incredibly vain and used a glamour to hide his demon features but it didn't really fit, so I just slipped the one line in. I did always wonder why the Watchers (or at least Giles) didn't seem to know he was real, but you think they could have included at least some explanation for why he was so different from other vampires in the BtVS canon...

Xander's agitation and Spike's fury were beautifully described. I love that Spike knows there's more to Xander's story, but doesn't pry in order to keep Xander calm. They're both protecting each other and it's lovely to read.

Your attention to detail painted a vivid picture of that brutal fight. The two were evenly matched, and I enjoyed the violent give and take. Spike didn't come out unscathed, but he has reason to gloat over a well fought victory. I loved this light moment: William the Bloody, he thought smugly, Slayer of Slayers and Kicker of Count Dracula’s Arse. He smirked. Might need to work on that last bit to get the wording just right but it had a nice ring to it. It does have a nice ring to it!

They're in a really comfortable place with each other. They'll always argue and see things differently, but it's almost incidental now. They argue and then they're done. And they've both learned to see when the other just won't budge on something.
