If all goes well, the next part will be up on Sunday.  Decided to post this one tonight without a final proof-read because I probably won't be able to post it tomorrow, so any proofing catches are greatly appreciated.  Feedback, as always, is adored.

This dense, emotional chapter was beautifully written. Wesley's assistance helped speed the process immeasurably and it makes sense that The Council would want their slayer back on the streets as soon as possible.

Xander just being solid, offering anything the Summers' girls need, physically or emotionally, was pitch perfect, and I love him taking burden after burden on. Buffy badly needed the support, but he just knows she won't ask for it.

Xander and Spike both mentally fuming over that broken cell phone was lovely, and now I bet Spike will willingly get another. Being out of touch is excruciating, especially when there's a crisis.

Joyce's diagnosis has come weeks earlier than in canon, so I'm holding out hope that the aneurism will never happen.

I'm delighted to be all caught up, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

I don't say it enough, but thanks so much for the detailed feedback you always leave. It's wonderful to have an idea of what worked and what maybe could use some tweaking. *sends hugs*

Next 2 chapters just got posted.

The fact that both Xander and Spike both thought the same thing about the mobile phone speaks volumes about how close their relationship is - they even think the same.

I love how this is working - Xander being there for Buffy; Wesley making the Council play a proper role in the Slayer's life - all of it.

Wesley really changed unbelievably in Los Angeles, and he had a little bit of a headstart here. I could really see him coming through for them.

So...am I the only one who had to do a little giggling about Xander admitting, if only to himself, that Westly had gotten kind-of good-looking? Because for some reason, I found that funny. Don't know why. Probablly because their canon interaction was severely limited and they didn't seem to like each other very much. And I love Dawn's obeservation that Xander is the least gay gay man she knows. I'm a little surprised he doesn't more readily identify as bi ( ... )

I suspect I'm borrowing from real life with Xander's attitude towards Dawn. Somehow I was never as young as members of my family who are 4-5 years younger than me. There's a real tendency towards "I was never that young". *g*

So glad you liked the bit about Wesley being cute. I couldn't resist. He got to be so incredibly good looking during seasons 3-5 on Angel. Just that touch of darkness I guess...
