So Good, when this season first started out, I had sincere doubts about Dawn, but as the season progressed I was very happy with the story. So anyway my point is I am just as happe or happier with your version of the story. Very enjoyable

Dawn is tricky. To me, for a long time her only redeeming feature was her relationship with Spike. Otherwise, she was pretty much just a bratty teenager. Still, can't really write about Season 5 without her. The next part has just been posted.

I love how inside the gang and outside Buffy's influence Spike is in this story. Everyone else thinks of her as the leader, but Spike marches to his own drum. He thumbs his nose at her authority and it never fails to amuse me.

Spike confronting Willow was fantastic, and I like that she was able to surprise the vampire. She really has grown up, and it makes me believe she's earned Xander's forgiveness.

Xander walking into the encampment was foolhardy, but this observation made me laugh: A minion seeing Xander in the middle of the camp would be sure to notify Spike immediately. They all knew that Spike tended to get cranky and blame everyone in arm’s reach when Xander was in trouble. The last line was also hysterical. I'm off to see how this plays out

Oh Xander...Xander, Xander, Xander. Just a thought: next time you're aware something you're doing will piss Spike off, please not that's only because YOU MIGHT DIE DOING IT!

Xander and Spike have fallen into the trap that many couples do...that trap where they're so willing to risk themselves for each other and always flip out when the other does the same. Spike's not the only protective one of the pair *points back at chapters with Dracula* ...yeah.

*moves on to next chapter*

Xander has a tendency to think that Spike is overprotective - which he is, but Xander certainly feeds that. What they have in common is the sense that they are right and the risk is worth it when they do these kinds of things.

That's Xander - always walking into the lion's den. He and Spike are exactly alike in that way, although they don't always see it.
