Well, it seems that Xander's risky plan has paid off somewhat. He did learn a few new things.

Still, I sense Spike will be pissed!

So true, Spike will be more than a little cranky. He's not big with Xander's "but everything worked out ok" explanations after the fact.

I just wanted to drop by to say that I haven't abandoned you. I'm god knows how many chapters behind because RL has been crazy and will continue to be so for the next 5-6 weeks. However I will get caught up eventually because I love this story far too much to abandon it. Just think of me as being on hiatus for a while.

Great to hear from you. And boy do I know how that is when RL insists on intruding in our fanfic time. I'm so far behind on my reading, it's not funny. I've got lists of things I want to read, just as soon as I get the time.

Well what do you know, Xander got out with all his parts intact, with the exception of a small cut which Spike is gonna be soooooo very pissed about. I can't wait.

Xander's neck is pretty much Spike's exclusive property. He is not going to be a happy vampire. *g*

Sheesh if Spike only knew what he was up to and how close he came to death, Xander would be in shackles. I sort of sympathize with the Knights, they of course don't know that the key is a girl, not that it would make much difference but I can understand their determination and oddly I am glad Xander could not sway it

They're an interesting set of characters (leaving aside the whole implausibility of them not modernizing just a teensy bit over the centuries). They're good guys, yet they are prepared to kill Dawn without batting an eye. That whole end justifies the means conundrum.

Yay! new chapter!
Yes Spike will be pissed, but you know Xander won. He didn't manage to accomplish everything he had set out to do but he got some good information and well he was trying to protect Dawn, and Dawn belongs to Spike too. Also, the knights, no matter how scary, are only human. Spike probably trusts Xander to take care of himself against humans. Or at least he will see it that way when he calms down.
