Nothing the Same, Book 4, Ch. 32

This is only about half the chapter but I've run out of town.  I leave tomorrow for a three week vacation, so there will be no more updates until the first weekend in March.  I'd feel a whole lot worse about this if I wasn't going to Egypt!  So, apologies for leaving you all in the lurch, but the story will resume on March 6.  Thanks for your ( Read more... )

Thank you for the wonderful update! I loved Xander reminding them that they had already killed someone, and his passionate argument that there really wasn't a difference between killing a human and a demon. Go Xander.

But boy is he in trouble when Spike finds out what happened to his neck.

Have a wonderful safe trip. Egypt...is jealous.

It may have been just a scabby minion, but he was tied to a chair and pretty darn helpless. Xander hasn't forgotten that, and he really doesn't see a difference between demons and humans anymore, just good and bad people.

Thanks for giving us an update when you must be so busy getting ready for your trip. I really like how Xander worries about the cut and Spike's reaction...so domestic in a weird sunnydale way.

Have a great time in Egypt. One bit of advice; learn how to say 'no thanks' in arabic and in a no nonsense tone so that the overwhelming numbers of salespeople will leave you alone at the touristy places.

Your advice was spot on. I learned to say "shukran" (No thanks) really fast (and really often). It was an amazing trip and we had such a good time.

This was an excellent chapter, and I'm delighted that Xander was able to voice the hypocrisy of them not being willing to take out Glory's human host. Buffy slaying vampires and dangerous demons is one thing, but the torture and murder of Glory's minion did cross a line. Your Xander's eyes are wide open, and the world is not as black and white as Buffy would like.

Spike's reaction to Xander's injury makes me think there's going to be some yelling in Xander's future. It's not like he'll learn his lesson, but Spike needs to vent when Xander's put himself in danger.

The others have been able to put it behind them, but Xander remains troubled by what they did. Despite what she's learned, Buffy still remains a little too much in the "demon, ok to kill" camp.
