Glory wiping out The Knights saved Spike from having to do it, but I love that he was willing to go against Xander and kill them. Your Spike is demon through and through and he sees nothing wrong with removing the threat. Here, too, you highlight how different he thinks from Buffy: Sometimes it just wasn’t worth telling humans anything. They spent far too much time being shocked and repeating what you’d just said. He and Ethan are more pragmatic than the others.
Spike's reaction to being in the sun was lovely, and lovelier still was Xander's reaction to the scene.
Spike's juggling different priorities. His promise to Xander to not kill means a lot to both of them, but if Xander or Dawn is in danger, he's always going to do what he has to. Fortunately, Xander respects that.
