Sorry this is so late.  Personally, I'm blaming Spike and Ethan.  They both went and did things that totally weren't in the script.  Which meant some major re-writing and re-thinking and futzing around.  Hopefully that won't happen again (eyes characters sternly).  Anyway, sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience.

Oh, I'm all for letting them play. Spike knew exactly what he was doing when he suddenly insisted that Xander stay out of it. It was just dumb old me who didn't see that coming and hadn't planned for it. *g*

You know I was so far behind with this story that I finished up loading all of Book 4 onto my e-reader and starting from the beginning again in my lunchtimes at work. Just got up to date at the end of the week and here you are with a new chapter.

Reading it all again reminded me how much I enjoy your take on the boys and I do like your take on canon in S5 so much more than Joss's. This chapter was just lovely, especially the end with Spike asking Xander to sit the fight out and Xander accepting it. Really good stuff hon.

Lots of evil plans are rolling around in my head. *g* After struggling for so long with the last chapter the muse has relented and is practically writing the next few chapters herself. It's really exciting. I keep having to email myself notes from work so I don't forget things.
