Hey, clicked over from the reply you left in Termy's journal and had to reply.
I see all my "core" characters [furry or non] as pieces of me. I've always been a little disconnected from myself [if that makes sense] and they are how I relate to me, my emotions, and the world.
On the other hand, because they're so deeply connected to who I am and the way I see/experience the world, there is a sort of reverence they command. I am a spiritual person, and those beliefs are also ingrained into my characters.
Then beyond my core characters, there are "all the rest" that flesh out the world/story universe they live in... boyfriends/relatives/friends/enemies/etc. They're not really pieces of me... but represent more the challenges I'm facing at the time.
Anyway, been doing a lot of creative writing/doodling lately and your post caught my attention so.... yeah! You're totally not the only one. ;)
Also, if I may point out, I found it interesting that your two new characters are opposites. Black/white, male/female, innocent/pure lover of souls... and the side of you that wishes for the same compassion??
Sorry, opposites are also themes I often deal with in my own ponderings, and so it makes my imagination spin when I see it in others. ;)
Haha, no worries. I often do the same thing. Not sure how I'd reply in your place either, honestly. Was just cool to see such a familiar concept coming from someone else. :)

You pretty well nailed my thoughts on my characters.
They very much are what you discribed and how I feel.
