[ The video clicks on, and, at first, the scene is just the wide, blue sky with a few clouds dotting the expanse. Then... ]

Bell? Could you please get the Gear? I can't...

[ It's Xion's voice, of course, but she sounds distant, yet audible, due to having to actually shout a little. Then there's the face of a Togetic chirping at the feed before ( Read more... )

[ Xion blinks, then carefully reaches to grab her Gear. There's a rumble from Gyarados. ]

Yeah. A friend of mine said he'd evolve soon, but... I didn't think it'd be like this. [ Sounds excited herself, actually. ]

Uwaah... It's usually a big shock when Magikarp evolve... Who would've thought that they'd become really powerful Pokemon.

Guess that's the reward, then? I'll have to be careful, though... [ The Dex did say they were rather violent Pokemon. ]

[ Have a small grin, Lambadelta, while Bell hands her the Gear. ]

I told you I'd try, right?

It's a good start. That beast is the embodiment of the idea that determination and hard work are rewarded--just like myself. But all the suffering that weak, shameful Magikarp lived with will now be expressed in power and anger.

Do you think you can handle that?

[ Tilts her head. She did her best not to push her Magikarp too hard, yet did so enough that he got this far... Still, Xion firmly nods. Gotta prove her worth! ]

I can. [ A beat, and she briefly glances back to the inside of her Gyarados' mouth. ] If he'd let me down first.

But he's not harming me... [ You're getting a rumble from her Gyarados, Ed. Such noise! ]

[Ed, animals here don't randomly kill people...

He just stares at the screen. The huge monster certainly wasn't doing anything.]

That thing's another Pokemon?!

[Ed frowns.]

Why is mine so tiny?

Piiiii! [Size isn't everything, you moron!]

[ Xion is staring at that Pichu of yours... It looks like an even smaller version of Roxas' Sparky, a Pikachu. Hrm... ]

Maybe yours hasn't evolved yet?

[ Another rumble. Gyarados agrees with this sentiment, given what he was just a few moments ago. ]

Wow, that's what Magikarp evolve into? I can't wait for that to happen to mine!

[ Nod nod. ] At level twenty. They're a bit difficult to train, but you can do it if you're determined.

[She nods back.]

That's okay, once I have a goal I won't give up until I achieve it.

Cecil! [ Beams, has yet to see you for a while, and to, you know, properly thank for the Feebas. ]

They really are. He's gotten so... big.

Even after all these months, Gyarados is one of the tallest Pokémon I've seen. Perhaps that is why Magikarps know so few attacks; they need to keep their energy for their evolution.

You think so? [ She's going to briefly peer at the ground many feet below and quickly sit back down. ]

I can see it. I mostly had my Bell or Axel take over for him.
