I've arrived safely in Auckland - the adventure has well and truly started. I'm in a city which almost feels like an Australian city, yet just isn't for reasons that are hard to pin down. Auckland is a lot more cosmopolitan than the Aus cities that I've been to - most notably, I notice Maori in just about every service occupation here, and "sushi ( Read more... )

121.5? Sounds high. Normally 116.9 or something - we only buy 91 octane.

Aucklanders are lost without hills - if we go to Christchurch, we get lost in about 30 minutes simply because it's so flat there's no landmarks for us to orient ourselves.

was great meeting you the other night - always nice being able to put a face to the name, and even better when we get along :) hehe

off to Hawaii tomorrow. I'm actually going to miss Auckland quite a bit.

Was good to finally meet up after ... how long? I dread to think. I think we were chatting online long before being online was cool.

yeah, 1994 was before Perth even had commercial net providers :P

And I will as soon as my body stops exuding bottleable quantities of sweat. :P It's 33 by day, 26 by night and humid as. Hope to be back in Auckland again before too long (possibly Dec 2005? not sure yet)
