EDIT: Just read your blog. Stay the hell out of Waikiki! It's miserable! It's like Las Vegas with Palm Trees. I'll take you one time, and we'll go about it the right away, not get pushed about the touristy path.

That's probably a fair comment actually. I didn't mind Waimea Bay on the north shore at all - I think I mentioned it was the one part of my stay that was worthwhile. I did some bushwalking/hiking there for about an hour and saw more in that space of time than the entire rest of my stay.

And plenty of people here in Canada have told me that the other islands (I've heard Big Island, Maui and Kauai mentioned) more than make up for the deficiencies of Waikiki. Except I think I'd go in late fall rather than mid-summer next time, especially if coming straight from the southern hemisphere. :P

Yes, well, I warned you about the quasinazifascist thingo. Stay north of the border. We're nicer. :D

(Although Ann and a couple of others are cool, but they're working for us anyway :P )
