I got heavily involved in our State election in WA after seeing from the relative distance of Singapore the crushing victory of the Federal Liberal government. Yes I did :) I read that, poll bludger, mumble and a few other sites leading into the election. Had I not also been working a soul-destroying job until the day before the election, I'd probably have contributed more to the discussion :P

Thanks as always for your informative insights into the world of politics - I may not always agree with you (wouldn't the world be boring if everyone agreed?) but I have a lot of respect for you.

No worries :D

I am probably best described as centre-left, with no specific party preference, but in practice the Liberals' move to the right has left me with only one major party choice... Last couple of elections I've voted Green-Labor. I joined the Greens a while back, but while their front faces are extremely good contributors to the discourse in Australia, many of their grassroots (the party faithful?) scare me :P
