i used to cringe, automatically
when my grandmother took my hands
in hers. her hands so rough,

old? too much. my hands look
ancient lately. my fingers
rotting fallen trees,
feeding the keyboard
compost heap.

yeah, she mentioned homecoming. her and i dated for 2-3 years a long long time ago, which actually might be why i remember you and your brother from highschool days. she's in NY now, working and auditioning/acting.

i love old hands.
i used to pinch the top of my grandmothers hand to watch her skin slowly go back to normal.
so wrinkly and soft on top.
her palms tough and calloused.
