Not sure how bad your problems are, but I think an LJ is a horrible thing to waste, personally. You like StarTrek?

Wanna know what is the best thing about being agnostic? Equal opportunity snarking. You can snark at Pagans, atheists and believers alike, and find a zillion things hilariously amusing. And snarking, unlike crusading or bunnyhunting, is done with a deep love for the humans who are assuming all the pious dogmatic huffyfluff, clanking around with huge chains around their ankles that they can easily step out of, but complaining how heavy they are. Heinlein once said that one man's religion is another man's belly laugh. I find myself laughing a hell of a lot more in my middle age.

They'll figure it out eventually.

Your reasons for feeling so guilty are nothing short of irrational; I can't say I blame you, though, it being imposed upon you the way it's been for so many years...

But why do you have to continue to take it? You are worth so much more than you've ever given yourself credit for. It's something he'll never let you see, as long as it's in his power. You need to put your foot down and say "NO. I've let this control me for far too long. I've let him control me. And it has to stop." Of course, it wouldn't be the wisest decision to actually come out and say that. It needs to be an inner attitude. Love yourself. There's so much good that you're not seeing. Think of all of us who are pulling for you.

I know how hard it must sound. But I know you want to change; you told me so. You deserve more than this. You're angry about it--that means you know it's true! And you can do it. I believe in you ( ... )
