I've seen this commercial (unless there are two commercials with slinkies?) and Emilia asked me, "Mommy, what are all those slinkies doing?" I told her, I have no idea. I didn't even know what company it was or that Qwest was changing names. LOL.

I had forgotten all about all those slinkise and their little white boxes. :)

Even a very smart 3-year-old knows that commercial is pointless.

I can't believe you forgot about all those Slinkys!! :)

I guess CenturyLink believes in the maxim that any publicity is good publicity.

And it must be working since we're all talking about them. :)

I saw that commercials oodles of times and saw only the Slinkys. I never knew what company was advertising what. Even now, I need Google to tell me the new name. And now that's I've posted this, I can purge that information. :)

You realize this post sent me to YouTube to find classic Slinky commercials :-P

I'm surprised CenturyLink were allowed to use them for their own commercials, since I think Slinky is still trademarked...

I expected Slinky lovers to flame me. It's okay. Go ahead. After all, there's no accounting for taste. :) Actually, there is something about a Slinky that conjures up sweet memories of days past. But really, think about it - they were nothing more than disappointment! Really. :)

I don't know...I had fun with mine when I was a kid, and never had issues with kinking or the like - till my brothers got hold of it :-P

Slinky was designed for lower end marketing. They weren't high quality. So they kinked and twisted quickly. You had brothers. You probably didn't get to play long enough to cause your own damage. They did it for you! :)

Seriously, I'm glad it brings back fond memories. If you had come to our house, you could have carted off a bagful! Everybody else did. Yes, we had that many!! :)

Are we talking plastic or metal ones? I had a lot of plastic ones and they always got messed up, but my metal one is in pristine condition.... somewhere....

Actually we only had the metal ones. Plastic came along later, I believe. If yours is still pristine, I suggest you never tried to make it move. :)

You Slinky lovers could strt a fan club. The title of this post comes from the Slinky song. You knew that, right? Go ahead and sing, Slinky lovers. :)

I played with it, but I was a very reserved child and also kept my things away from my sister at all costs. :-P That song has been stuck in my head all morning!
