Grants Pass, Oregon

My husband and I have decided to move to Grants Pass, Oregon, and some of the reasons are below:

-we love the outdoors
-want to live in Southern Oregon
-live about an hour from the beach
-live in a small (but not too small) town
-live close to a larger town for more job opportunities (Medford, 20 min. drive apparently)

What do you think of Grants Pass?

Grants Pass is "okay," in my opinion. The beaches are actually about 2 hours away, through a twisty turny, yet beautiful, drive through the mountains - a very dangerous road in the winter.
The town itself could use some work and is considered an oversized truck stop, being right on the Interstate 5.
A nice place for the isolated towns on the coast to visit, but personally I would never choose to live there.
