For a while now I have been considering getting tattoos, done in black and white to mimic the vintage advertisements of some of the classic Guerlain perfume bottles. The recent invention of InfinitInk, a completely laser removable tattoo ink, has cemented the deal for me. However, I need to consider a few things very carefully, and that is where ( Read more... )

That would be Coque d'Or, the bottle of which is designed to look like a black bowtie :) I will have to consider that placement, and the placement of the subsequent bottles as well. Thanks! :)

The upper right bottle is pretty, as is the middle left most one with the wee tassle on the stopper. I happen to like 'Jicky' which is one of the first 'modern' perfumes put out by Guerlain, iirc dating back to 1889?

The one with the tassle on the stopper is Mitsouko/L'Heure Bleu, which I am definitely planning on getting along with the Shalimar bottle in the upper right hand corner.

I can definitely see you being a Jicky kind of woman! I vetoed the Jicky parfum bottle due to its similarity to the bottle of Djedi (the photograph on the right with the square bottle and gold/bronze plate on front), and also because Nahema parfum comes in the same bottle and if I were going to get one of the two, I would get Nahema since Jicky is a little too civetalicious on me. :)

I have been thinking of getting a fractal tattoo of sorts around one of my arms.

I really wanted some fractal tattoos for a while but the ones that I liked were unfortunately impossible to translate into a tattoo :/

There are ways of converting fractal spirals into repeating horizontal friezes, and I would have to do that (as opposed to) instead of gluing different fractal images together -- which would be dishonest and less involved.

Definitely Shalimar. Definitely Vol de Nuit (the propellor looking bottle). Maybe I should just do one at a time. I want to do a series of them, and picking which ones and the order of them is tough. I have no other ideas for placement aside from down my spine, though....

You should get the one you bought for your mother that looks like an alien space ship.

Actually, baccarat has a version of the bottle that I would totally get, although I have never smelled the actual perfume:

check it out, two to the right of the Pyramid on the upper shelf.

I think it's like $2,000 for .25 oz of parfum extrait though.
