But I was curios; I kinda figured it wasn't derived from the same language; but hey, let's see:

puto: from Wiktionary; there's apparently multiple meanings to it (a tasty cake, an annoying kid; to cleanse, and our favorite, a male prostitute/gay)

'puta' is more similar to 'pussy' in the way it is used in latin america but I am not sure it came over from Spain (although the only ones I hear speaking Spain Spanish wouldn't be using that kind of language!)
