I love neem! It's great for anything that is chewing your plants, and is a good fungicide. It can be used in the soil as well as on the plants. I also use it on my dogs to deter fleas (it also acts as a growth inhibitor for fleas).
Here are couple of tips on using neem in the garden, for posterity's sake:
It's best to apply it at dawn or dusk, when predatory insects are least active.
If you mix up your own solution of neem oil and water, note that the insecticidal properties of the oil become much less potent after 24 hours of being mixed with water, so be sure to only mix up as much as you're going to use right away.
The cold pressed oils have a shelf life of 2 years (I'm guessing solvent extracted ones do as well). That shelf life can be extended via refrigeration.
