All my Feelings...!! [[Going to you FList for help again...]]

Okay, so maybe shampoo lather isn't the best hair gel substitute, but it's the closest thing I have and I sort of was able to get my hair looking Yuushi-ish, only I'm not too sure because the hand mirror was really small and I had to squint through the stream 'cause I'm blind. Hair's definitely too long still if I want it done properly, and the ( Read more... )

if it's any consolation, I don't really know how to put on/wear make-up either... I have mascara and one shade of eye-shadow that I sometimes put on for "special occasions".

as for cons, I only know of one in Edmonton (that's west-coast-ish, right? LOL) in July/August, Animethon. I know it's probably far away for you, but I mention it because I know it is as much a video game convention as it is anime/manga.

My mom's friend gifted me this makeup kit consisting of foundation and eyeshadow and eyeliner and stuff when I turned 18. I emptied the bag and put my toothbrush and toothpaste inside instead D:

First thought was to go to Google!maps: 30 hour road trip, hmmmmmmm...
My roommate that's interested, she has family in Canada, so maybe it's close to their place *_______* I'll ask her about it, thanks!

It's more in the beginning of September, but there is Kumori Con in Vancover, WA. Perky and I will be there as staff, and I will be doing Atobe for at least one day(or part of one). Ditto with Sanada. The rest of the con I will be Akaya again. And wigs are a great alternative, but don't forget your wig cap. They help keep your own hair out of the way. My very first con I did not have one and it showed. Kumori Con info can be found at kumoricon.org

!! That might be an option! Just checked my planner and school doesn't start until the 20th of September (I'll go correct that above~) so maybe that'll be an option *A* Google!mapped it, and it's not bad; have to take a plane but still.

Heck, I might even be nice and offer to pick you up at the airport, depending on when you get in ( ... )

Ok, yeah, pretty much what she said. And on the note of makeup, the most I've worn was some mascara and eyeliner for Akaya, and I'd never really done eyeliner before. Don't feel too bad about having to fly, I do too. Though I'm willing to bet your flight will be less than mine was. over 500 dollars.

Well, Anime Expo is end of June / beginning of July! And in California. I usually go to two conventions a year, Fanime at the end of May (that's in San Jose), and AX in July (which is in LA~). There's also ALA, but I've never go to that, and that's in January, I think? Yaoi Con is usually in September/October and was in Nor Cal, but I think it's moving to LA this year. (Still, I wouldn't recommend that as your first convention... would be very hard to convince your parents to go to Yaoi Con of all conventions ( ... )

Anime Expo is probably what I'll end up leaning towards since it's the closest, but I'll be terrified going by myself so finding a group is a must! Hoping so hard I can find someone I know from either college or high school, potentially my roommate if I plead enough maybe xD ( ... )

Oh, only half hour drive? That's really close then. That's about the same for me (well, a bit less) to Fanime, so I never get a hotel for Fanime. Hotels are so expensive ( ... )

About make-up, there are some great tutorials on youtube. And believe it or not, I had to teach myself how to use it, as my mother never allowed anything of that kind on me for about... 18 years? So instead I had freakish nail colors. XD (And I still would, if my work wouldn't ban it.)
But crossplayer doesn't need much make-up in my opinion, just a basic liquid make-up for a basic even skin, for Yuushi, if you'll have blue hair, then colored eyebrows (with an eyeliner it's easy to do it), and maybe applying eyeliner.

I's love to go to a US con, I just don't have money for it (or if I maybe do, I usually spend it on my cosplays -.-;;;; XD)

So it's not hard? xD I hear about girls spending half an hour to an hour putting on makeup, which is one reason why I thought I'd never use the things! I'll look on Youtube though, thanks!

xDDDD
Save up and hang out with me, haha.

For girls to be girls and pretty, it's more time and many various makeup thingies, but for girls to be boys and not falshy or anything, just something to make the skin even and the eyes stand out, it's about 10 minutes at most.

I wish I could...

1) join the convention forums! Best way to meet people, learn tips on cosplay tricks, find cosplay groups, etc.

2) don't panic! It's a safe FUN thing to do. Makeup and all. Just google cosplay makeup or videos online though be careful of the products that you buy since some may or may not be good for your skin

3) BRING lots and lots of money! Cons are expansive and you'd never know what you might end up finding there. It's a treasure trove! Trust me! (going to a con tomorrow just to meet the Weasley twins! T...T)

I'll definitely look those up when I get permission to go/know where I'm going! First things first, haha. Maybe my mom will be happy her daughter's looking up makeup stuff and finally acting like a ~*girl*~ xD;;;;; I'm going to assume that I have to bring cash? Like they wouldn't have the things that swipe debit cards, right? Since it's separate tables and stuff?

Meeting the Weasley twins = Jealousy

Haha! Man, reminds me of when mom started noticing how much I hated to put makeup on since I thought having a face full of artificial coloring at the age of 14 was just ridiculous. But heck! When I finally used it willingly, it was often always because I was in some cosplay garb (most of the time).

Hmm, depends on the tables. Some might offer EFTPOS aka debit. Others might not. Still, it's always good to be on the safe side.
