I have never understood the theory that speaking wishes aloud means they won't come true. I consider being overheard as advantageous, the more people the better, as it is generally other people who can supply what you want.

Circling desirable items in cataloges and leaving them open to the relevant pages is just another form of this.

It sounds like a useful way of getting a presents (which I may keep in mind...), but I've gotten used to having to get things on my own.

I spent a long time wanting to be able to get things for myself. The desire lessens once you achieve it.
