You know this is one of my favorite types of posts, right? You always read the most interesting books - I love it! *g*

I think I'll save this to private memories so I can pick and choose...

ya know, i was a total anne rice fan when i was a teenager, but honestly, the later books are just CRAP! Blackwood farm is hideous!! don't you think that lestat is just totally out of character and there is too much bloody LOVE going on? he gives his love so freely! what a whore! also, all the characters now speak the same!

It feels like they are all like old married couples. The vamps are just on earth for too long, and have accepted each other and their once fiery characeters have turned to grudging acceptance.

ARGH, i was so disappointed and i felt dirty by the time the vampire chronicles ended.

I know what you mean. But I guess it makes sense that their relationships and language change over time. I loved the Mayfair Witches chronicles, do the later books which merge both stories are interesting from that angle. You're dem funny!

ok i never read the mayfair witches series, so i was pissed off when these people started coming in. maybe i should start.

They said that anne rice started becoming prety terrible after stan rice (her husband and editor) died. So if she wrote the mayfair stuff before his death, it should be pretty good.

I'm just counting down the years when I can once again indulge in this volume of reading.

I miss it. :(

I'm lucky if I have the time to read 2 books a month.
