this is really fascinating...

this post reminded me that ever since I saw the movie Sylvia, I wanted to read up on A. Alvarez...I think I even found a book by him among my book collection recently that I had picked up at a book sale years ago...I'm doing a library search for titles now...so far, I've pulled up a memoir that should be interesting, but I'm positive I have no time to read it...I've also wanted to read his books about suicide...

I had a book by A.Alvarez...I wish I could remember the title. One has to be in the right mood to read it though. I think after I win the lottery I'll pick it up..hehe.
PS: Is Sylvia any good? I was turned off by the main star and by the time I changed my mind it was out of the theatre...is it worth renting? I'm so bored these days.

I haven't seen it since I saw it in the theater, which had to have been four years ago...it was the first movie I ever saw with Richard, and it was only a few months after my uncle died, so it wasn't necessarily easy viewing...but I thought it was a pretty well done film, and you can probably save your money and just get it from the library (I know where I work has a copy)...it was my first experience seeing Daniel Craig in a film, and in some ways I remember that more than I specifically remember Gwyneth...and there's just one scene with the A. Alvarez character that really hit close to home for me and would like to see again just to get those words down...

I have to look for my Alvarez book so I can tell you the title. It was good but the kind of thing I had to put away for awhile, I might have loaned it to someone and forgotten.
I'll check the library today. It's so hot, I have to stay out of the heat but I need entertainment.

I wish that they could do one of those DNA documentaries on her. I'd love to know the real story.
