Jim Kirk to Jim Kirkoriginal_fineApril 18 2010, 00:35:03 UTC
Jim,
That's not what I was expecting. Should I take it that congratulations are in order? I know it's a strange transition, so whenever you need, I'll be here. I'm surprised you were even able to write--I don't remember a damn thing after saying yes.
Jim
He sat back, feeling uncertain. He couldn't tell much from the note, but something struck him that it wasn't entirely overjoyed. But he must be imagining that--it was probably just unexpected. Distracting. Jim would get in touch when he could, and until then, well, he'd try not to worry. But thoughts kept creeping in. Were Kirk and his Spock even that close? Jim didn't know--they hadn't seemed like it, but he felt unusually bad at reading this Spock. Then again... he hadn't even known about his own Spock's feelings for him--or his for Spock--until this had happened.
He had no facts. It was illogical to speculate. Illogical to worry, too, but he might do. A little. Until he heard from him again.
