Hair diary: demi touchup == lesson learned-not-to-do!

Mar 03, 2012 22:09

it's lent.  want so much to re-do my room now from buying housewares to hanging the new pic frames, floating shelves, etc but going to do that after lent.
so to get my mind off that, going to just re-touch my brassed up hair.
for some reason, dye last time didnt last long.  got really brassy in a month...maybe cause i've been using hot water to bathe.  but gosh, i looooove hot water showers.  so cozy.
anyway, used the freebie garnier herbashine med ash brown dye that i've had for over 4 months.
added less than 1/2 oz of blue tint to it + 20 vol peroxide.
test strand of 10 min = no real change.
so decided to leave dye on for about 30 min (maybe less....but more than 15 min for sure):  my hair turned so dark... well, let's say it looks really dark like black.  seems blacker than my natural hair but very very up close, at light can see coppery dk brown sheen where the roots start.  other than that, cant see roots at all from normal talking space.  they are there though for sure as this dye is demi and demi wont touch roots.
sigh.  i'm sure this will wash out quickly.  back to hot water.  LOL
