well, not an only (i have a brother), but the kid's mom isn't actually my sister. my folks' best friends' kid, and i always just call her my sister since she's the closest thing i have. so he's pretty much my nephew. and i treat him as such. in fact, in less than ten years, i get to teach him how to smoke, and cuss. man, i'm lookin forward to that.
