reception music

Since we are not having a DJ at our reception, John and I decided to make mixed CDs with music on there that we wanted.

Here is the list, in no particular order.

I'm a Believer -- The Monkees

When You Come Back Down -- Nickel Creek

Fishin' In The Dark -- Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Underneath It All -- No Doubt

Take It From Me -- Paul Brandt
I Do -- Paul ( Read more... )

Going without a DJ is a great thing. :o) My husband and I did that, and it was so nice to be able to talk to the people at our reception, instead of having to shout at them all night. DJs always play the music way too loud (and they have bad taste -- break-up songs at wedding receptions are tacky!)

That's an awesome list, too. :-D

thank you! Yes we mainly decided to go with choosing our own music and making CDs because of budget restraints for our wedding. Plus I just love picking our all our own songs, it's fun. :)

not all djs are noisy & loud, ours wasn't at the reception. He played olds songs and if you talk with him ahead of time, he won't play break up songs. The music was the 50's stuff oldies and he didn't play it loud so it were able to talk.

But we did have the idea of no dj, his parents paid for it.

that's cool!!! Looks like a good list of songs, I was going to have a few cds done but his dad said they'd pay. But I had TONS of cds ready to burn if I needed to.
