Jase is puttering around his apartment, cleaning up things here and there in preparation for Tommy's visit this weekend. He's not exactly the cleanest person during the times that his boyfriend isn't here, and while he's pretty sure that Tommy wouldn't care that much about it, he still feels a need to pretend otherwise ( Read more... )

Tommy already knows that Jason isn't the tidiest person alive, but he still appreciates the man's effort to make things as neat as he can.

He is, admittedly, a bit late by the time he actually arrives. He'd forgotten that holiday traffic is already getting heavy, even though it's still a couple days before Christmas. A former racecar driver, Tommy doesn't pay too much attention to the speed limit -- except when he's being forced by prevailing traffic conditions, or law enforcement officials, to go at or below it. He'd tried calling Jason when he hit traffic, but the guy hadn't answered his phone. So all he could do was hope for the best.

Tommy is, in a word, relieved when he finally pulls into one of the guest spaces at Jason's building. It takes him a moment to unload his things from the car, but as soon as he's accomplished that he makes a beeline for the front door and presses the button for Jason's apartment rather enthusiastically.

Jason drops everything that he's doing when he hears the buzz -- literally! The finished laundry in his hands drops onto the bedroom floor, completely forgotten and abandoned as he makes quick time for the apartment door. For all that time he spent cleaning, he ended up making a bigger mess in the end, and he doesn't care one bit.

He presses the button to buzz Tommy in, pushing open the door to his apartment itself. "Hey, stranger," he calls, with no lack of a grin on his face. "Need some help?"

"I think I can make it all of thirty or so feet to your doorway," Tommy replies with a smile. "I'm a big, strong, manly man after all." The Black Ranger has not, in fact, forgotten that little conversation that they had while moving Jason into the apartment.

When he gets to the door, he leans forward and gives Jase a quick kiss on the cheek before holding up a bottle of wine. It's quite a bit nicer than the stuff they usually have, which while not bad, isn't exactly top-shelf.

"Not your Christmas present, but as long as it's the time of year for celebrating, why the hell not? 'Course, it wouldn't really be proper of me to give you this, or anything else, while I'm standing out in the hallway. We wouldn't want the neighbors, or the landlady, to start talking, would we?"

Smirk.

"Once you get a sixty year old woman talking," Jase verifies, "She's never going to stop." And a rumour like this? Well, it may be too much shock for her.

Not that either of their statements are anything but an unneeded excuse to get inside, really. Instead of bothering with any other words along these lines, then, Jase grabs onto Tommy's shirt and pulls him inside.

And forgets all about the idea of 'rumours' or 'causing people to talk', when he gives Tommy a kiss right on the mouth before even closing the door.
