A couple days later, Lestat is going on his usual evening walk and happens upon the note. Groaning a little, and rolling his eyes, he finds a pen and scribbles in an old-fashioned style:
After reading the note and speaking to Murata again, Shinou heads out to the garden. He wanders around, admiring the surroundings while he keeps an eye out for Lestat.
Lestat has actually been in the garden for quite some time, but at the moment he's hidden in the shadows, simply watching Shinou. He really doesn't want to be here, as he feels there is nothing they have to say to each other. Since the last time he spoke with Ken, he'd spoken with his other companion and resolved their issues as well.
But he did ask to speak to him, and it would be rude not to show up. And Lestat is cordially polite, if nothing else. But before stepping out to speak with him, he continues to observe him curiously, recording every detail in his mind for later.
Shinou may be dressed like a regal King but his expression as he crouches down to observe the flowers more closely is almost like one of a child - though it is not innocent it is clear he finds the beauty and joy in the simple act of admiring the flowers. He touches the petals of one but makes no move to pluck it or remove it from the ground, respectful of the natural world.
