*Unexpected* sunshine on my shoulders does not make me happy

Jan 23, 2011 17:35

I almost got sunburned today. No joke. Home is still grey and overcast but where I was climbing was a sunshine filled balmy 70 degrees today. I only put SPF 15 on my face and none anywhere else because i was expecting overcast.

People getting high on bath salts scares me. @_@ wtf? Why would anyone do that to themselves?

I think your posts are real and we all have caca days. I know and have had some people who were negative- and i just had to remove them. I got tired of angry negative ranting. I felt drained by the person.

you have never sucked my energy. yet i think your tone or the way you express yourself is key. it is your journal and you should post whatever. it is a journal.

come to think of it i tend to refrain from posting everything that i feel. sometimes i feel as though others might see it as a weakness not like i should care yet some people do swim in the misery of others

Thanks! I totally agree with your assessment and people who don't jive have left on their own usually. I've only had to remove a small number.

For me, cutting back on carbs and taking in lots of vitamin D3 made me burn less with sun exposure than I used to burn. No idea if it would work for you.

I have already upped my Vitamin D3 levels for winter depression originalkitsune January 24 2011, 15:43:23 UTC
People with certain backgrounds such as asian, hispanic and even some darker Caucasians have profound changes in skin coloration during the year. I think of myself as an ermine, light coat in the winter and brown coat in the summer. Once the "brown coat" activates, I don't burn even without any sunscreen in TX summer. Burning only occurs when I have the "light coat" in place. However, I did hear darker skinned people have a harder time making Vitamin D so I try at the first part of summer to avoid tanning but tans can occur within 15 min of exposure. Ever see the Von Luschan scale. He made a useful skin colour scale for makeup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felix_von_Luschan
On that chart, I start at about a 14-15(winter) and jump to about (27-28) by end of September.

That's the "FJ" stuff. They look around and only see "good posts" so they think you (and they) should only post "good stuff".

OMG! I've had complaints before as well. You can only post happy stuff and only happy stuff! Because you know the negative stuff....doesn't exist and if it does...you are a bad/flawed person! :D
